I used to drink vodka pretty much exclusively, until I was introduced to the martini. Now and for the past 7 years or so I am a gin lover. I drink Bombay Sapphire whenever possible, in all manner of drinks. If I see Hendricks (midland isn't known for its variety :-D) I will definitely give it a try! Have any favorite drink recipes I should try it with? I got talked into trying tequila once. with a pickle juice chaser I still remember the taste and that would have been 6 years or so ago. Not bad, but strange!

Here's hopin, for the clown spawn! Its really cool that you have so many spawning species, and that you share so much of your experiences with us. My tank isn't nearly as interesting, well, maybe it is I just dont have the ability to look at so many of the teeny tiny goings on. Very cool though.

Yeah, but you have a smile on your face as you go down. Or maybe you just think you do....

We actually have a restaurant a few blocks from us that uses more Cuervo than any other bar in the country. _Those_ are some margaritas.... :) Mmm. Margs....

Mmm. Vodka martini. Man, you guys are bringing back some very blurry memories of my grad school/post-grad school days.

Hendrick's is better than Bombay. They add rose petals and cucumber to the mash and it makes a huge difference to the taste. If you want to go all out on a G&T, I also recommend Fever Tree tonic. It's fantastic without all of the sugary taste of Canada Dry. I was told that it was a Colorado brand, but that was apparently wrong. Here's the website: http://www.fever-tree.com/index.php

lol, its important to remember life before kids sometimes I think! I will definitely look out for hendricks, I hope it still has a juniper taste to it, I think thats my favorite part of gin is the juniper. but I can see how it would be improved by rose petals at the very least, yum. Will take a look at the tonic too, I'm not so into canada dry myself so its definitely worth trying!

I personally cannot stand the taste of gin (I'm a vodka and bourbon man) but my wife drinks it. I bought her some Plymouth gin from the ABC store once and she loved it. It's made in a small distillery in Plymouth England that's housed in an old building.

Ah, but try the Fever Tree tonic before you say that. Night and day.

I keep trying to like bourbon but I've just never managed to. It does give a nice taste when cooking, though.

That comes with age Andy. When you only have 10% of your taste buds left, it won't taste like dirty socks any more. :eek2:

Uh, I didn't mention wine coolers dude. The ONLY reason why a wine cooler might ever "taste good" is probably innappropriate for this forum.

Fortunately, after about 16 I always picked friends who were mature enough to drink whatever they wanted and let me drink whatever I wanted. Besides, who would ever want a wine cooler again once they've been introduced to sangria? :)

Man, this thread is getting dangerous. Let's see, now I want a martini, G&T, sangria, and margarita. Hmm. This really _is_ starting to remind me of my late twenties. :)

Try the Makers Mark Mint Julep, you will like Bourbon then!!!

Got the first decent-sized bunch of sixline eggs tonight, probably 20-25.

Sixline eggs at 17 hours.

1: You think I'm getting some bacterial contamination? The Maracyn was a little late for this one.

2: But then others seem mostly unaffected. I doubt it's fertile, though, because I would imagine the egg would have split several times by now.
