Thank you for the compliment.Great thread and I really like the rock work and I see you added sand again. You still have your cross hatch trigger pair?
Thank you for your suggestion. I used sugar sized before and it was hell. This time I purchased Reef-Flakes and I was hoping that that larger grain size would be sufficient. I guess I will order a bag or two of Grand Select, when it is available.Add some larger sized gravel over the top to hold the sand in place. Also, you can add a few small pieces of rock in strategic places to stop or reduce the amount of sand that gets blown about.

Looks great everything looks algae free and covered in purple coralline algae. Whats your secret on controlling algae are you running GFO? or anything pellets?
Thank you. I had a little bit of hair algae in the display but the refugium has done the trick. I gave up on GFO years ago and do not plan on using it anymore. GFO works well but it costs too much on a large system.
I have also been experimenting with Microbe-Lift Special Blend. So far I have been pleased with the results.
yea im going though the hair algae phase after 18 months i thought i was in the clear:sad2:. I have a similar tank peninsula style 270 and i am still running a closed loop and whoa is it expensive but its hard to get flow to the far end i have a rimless tank. What kind of stuff do you currently have in the refugium any pics?
Looks great! Got any special fish stocking plans this time around?
