450 here

So did you account for the differential settlement that's going to occur on that side of your house from the extra couple of tons of water... So what are you going to build the stand out of?

John, id say you have to cut the wall out for the overflows, no way to clean them out if its against the wall, well no easy way, i would recess them to the wall

I agree!

And building a stand is not that hard. Tank looks awesome.

hey Roy I get plenty of stuff you can break (err borrow ) I allways like NEW stuff LOL. oh buy the way NICE TANK!!!!!

Congrats on the new monster!! It will make a nice coffin someday.

That stands don't look that great. Why don't you build something nice.

I think this is brilliant! It solves my whole stand dilemma that's been frustrating me for months. I will just use sawhorses. I might go with three, though, to be safe.

Hey- I just realized that the overflows are as we talked about via PM's...Very cool! Are you still going to push the tank flush to the wall with the boxes between the studs?

As close as I can. I'm glad I did the xternal overflows you ought to see the space in this sucker. I am so timpted to rip the plastic off so I can see the whole thing and take pics. But I Know my kids will scratch it sitting as low as it is.

what do you feed your kids after buying that monster!

my mom said that if we got that, i would be on the cradboard diet for a year!

I'd trade her. Eat cardboard for a year and suck it up! You can always beg food when you leave the house.

No not yet going to work on it this weekend. I need to have it ready before wendsday.
READY FOR A PIZZA NIGHT!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with Dave on this one. You need to distribute the tank's weight a little better. I mean you know plastic can bend, right? What is all this nice tank, awesome, Cool. I think your tank sucks you can't even see through the thing. Stock tank would have been cheaper. and another thing if I invited someone over and all they wanted to do is rub my tank. I would probably have to put the smack down on them. Thats just weird. Mark is right put some water in there before you get the bad wrap of Nook.

Cheers and I am happy for you that the beast made it in your basement in one piece. Wish I had one that big. Overflows on the back is the way to go.

Heck yeah! Glad to see it worked out for ya John! I can't wait to get over there and check it out in person....

Do you want someone to come over and make the commitment hole in your wall to recess the overflows in ??

You have to sink it into the wall.

that was the plan from the get-go.....external overflows just smaller than the space between the studs so it could be put up against the wall without modifying the wall at all...should be awesome!
