Cool. Having said that, your tank looks great, especially for never doing water changes!

Did you use a razor blade or a basic scraper or what?About one hour
Great tank man! Did your mandarin eat prepared food and such at the LFS or did you train him once you got him home? I really want a mandarin, just terrified of their finicky eating habits. On my 180 back in the day my mandarin did great. My new 40 breeder I am a little hesitant.
I really like your whole angle of "if it isnt broke dont fix it. Beautiful tank. Gonna be going the same route with a new 40ish breeder I just picked up. Im going to substitute waterchanges and a small refugium for a skimmer though. Space is incredibley tight
I know acans prefer low light so id try to keep it as low as possible. I'd start the shrooms/ricordea on the sand then gradually move them to where you want. Just my opinionhey guys i need a big help, am trying to place some shrooms and ricordea, but i can not find the perfect spot for it, and i need to take my acan out of the sand, but it seems like all my free rock work is verticall instead of flat, would acan and shrooms do ok in there?
Ricordea usually move to avoid high light or flow, but don't think it's that common. Could also have moved in response to another coral. Don't know about a vertical wall but probably would be fine, could always glue a frag plug or two together to the vertical wall to act as a shelf. Can you take pics of where it is/where it has moved from/where your thinking of putting it? Would be easier with shots for reference.Ok so lower light on both, will shrooms and acans do well on vertical rocks then??? I had a ricordea attach to a rock and then glue to another and after 1 month of been ok, it just decided to detach itself from the rock, it was vertical
Awesome man! Welcome to the dark side! How high were your nitrates/phosphates lol? They are doing better now, did my first 5gal water change today, might start doing them maybe once a month, let's see
