I am soon top be getting a nice 46 bowfront from a good friend of mine. I have some question though to help me along in my journey in building this new setup.

1.What are the dimensions i am working with?
2.What type of powerheads are good for this tank?
3. What type of fish can i get(schooling fish, tang, clonws, jawfish etc.)?
4.What type of lighting(figureing i will be using my 4 bulb SunDial t-5 lights)?
5.Sump Size?
6.Types of corals i can put in?
7.How big of a heater?
8.Anything else that may be helpful? lol

Thanks!

Pretty sure a 46 is a 3' long tank, not sure of the rest of the dimensions. Obviously it's a little "unique" with the bow

Smaller powerheads will be good for the tank. Things like the new marineland mjmods, or an MP10

Going to have to go with smaller fish, and Tangs will probably be out of the question.

The 4xT5 will probably be pretty decent.

If you're going under-tank sump, don't expect to fit much more than a 10g, even a 20g might be pushing it width wise

Sky is the limit for corals as long as you stay on top of the lighting/chemistry/flow

Heater, around a 200 would "do" it, but I might use a 250

Can i atleast do a yellow tang or a smaller species? and i was wondering if anyone had shots of some nice tanks to give me an idea of what i can do!

Does this mean you are taking my tank? It is 3 feet long, a little over 24 inches tall. and I have kept a yellow tang with clowns and goby in there no problem.

I'm barely comfortable with having a Kole Tang in my 65g, and I feel even worse about that now seeing how big they can get in the wild. I wouldn't do it if I were you.

I have had a yellow tang in my 46G bowfront for 1.5yrs without any problems. I had figured he might outgrow the tank eventually, but I don't see that happening for at least another few years.
