I am looking at a new tank, a 48x48x24 deep cube. I have a pair of 400 watt mh with spider reflectors. Are these enough to light this monster or do I need more lights? All comments welcome.

instead of the spider reflectors, i would go with like Lumenarcs or Lumenbrights for more coverage on those 400 watters. in my opinion

+1 on what Yogiboo said.

I think it's enough, personally, but I'd certainly supplement it with some T5's loaded with ATI Blue Plus and/or KZ Fiji Purples. Both are GREAT PAR producers and look fantastic.

i have the same dims as your proposed tank & i use (4) LB Minis
w/ (3) 36" vho actinic. i had (2) lumenarcs with (2) LB Minis at one time but couldn't get the vho's in, but the spread is betterwith the LAs.
maybe this is best . (2) lumemarcs centered with 2 vho's ea. side

I had 1 lumenbright large on a 30" x 30" space and it easily covered it. 48" x 48" may be a little tricky. I remember seeing someone put 3 pendents on a large cube and it worked well.
