4FT SPS Tank

Wow wow wow....! love the polyp extension and overall vibrance of your corals. What are the main factors for your growth and health of your corals.
Well done just amazing.
Thanks Justin
I think it's the stability of the parameters and good salt.

If someone asks me about what the top 3 most important hardware equipments are in my case, I would say they are the return pumps, calcium reactor set and the light.

I have pump failure before early in the morning that caused me to panic because the local shops are not open yet which I can't buy a replacement. I had no choice but fortunately I can still use my pump that is meant to mix my salt and water.

Calcium reactor means stable parameters if it is built to last. Many who are dosing can similarly achieve the same result. However, based on my personal experience, cr makes life much easier in terms of testing parameter on kh only and it requires less tuning if it's setup properly.

I think if you use ati, you can't blame the light if the corals are not colouring.

Enough said, here is my full tank shot.

Wonderful coral collection and excellent husbandry!

I hope you will keep us updated over time because I am curious to see how you manage growth. Are the colonies attached in a way that will allow you to remove and restart frags when colonies get too large? Do you plan on keeping this tank for several years?

Sure. Will update once.

Some colonies are fully encrusting which I can't take it out while some are not. It's just the way of different corals prefer to grow themselves. I will cut them and sell frags when they are growing too big as I want to keep all coral size in check.

I don't know how long I am gonna keep it. Maybe a few years before I consider to upgrade to a bigger tank. Life is always changing.. Who knows by then I will change plan. Haha.. For now, enjoy while it lasts...

Is this the most recent fts? Did you take off the kessils and go back to the reefbrite?

As always you have a incredible tank.

Yeah.. This the most recent shot captured a few days ago.

I have removed the kessils and use them on my frag tank. For the main tank, I just use a cheap led bar that is sourced from alibaba.

I am testing if kessils can hold the coral colours in comparison to my mh light.

Kessil's are very popular lights. They should do well. But they don't put out much par from what BRS tested them at. Were you using a radium bulb for the mh?

For my frag tank, par should be enough given the water is shallow. I just wanna see kessil can hold the colour as well as the mh.

Yes, my mh bulb is radium 20k.

You have one of the most beautiful tank I have ever seen.
Could you please share the lighting schedule? I would love to know how long you keep what light?
A few pictures of your sump would be great too.
