4th Anniversary Pictures

Many thanks! Placement depends on the lighting and flow demands for the corals. I also try to place corals with contrasting colors next to one another to help them stand out and pop. And yes.....many do touch so sometimes I have to be careful with the more aggressive ones.

Did you consider growth form when you placed frags?

I know it can be tricky because the same coral can grow differently depending on conditions, but that's something I feel like I should have paid more attention to when placing frags.

Amazing looking tank one of the BEST.The stag on the left is growing crazy. Is it time remove him as well.
Thanks! Are you talking about the aqua colored stag on the right? I grew that from a 1" frag I received a few years ago and it too is very aggressive. I love that one so I just frag the crap out of it :)

Yep....I did and it is a hard thing to predict given all of the variables. Some worked out the way I wanted while others didn't. That red table in the middle was introduced during year 1 of the tank and it grew exactly the way I wanted. However, some corals I had to move around a bit in the beginning to find that "happy" place. Of course the best thing to do is to keep the hands out of the tank and let nature take its course.

this is a very interesting point for me.
How do you manage it?
Didn't you glue the frags/corals to the rocks?
do you glue frags to little piece of rocks and then move that pieces?

Are you still using the same circulation as when you originally set up the tank, or have you had to change/add more?

You make it look so easy. Truly inspirational.

Are you still using Coralife salt or did you switch?

Again, many thanks folks for the very kind words!

Thanks Mike! A couple of those frags I picked up from you have grown into some sweet colonies. I hope things are going well with that awesome tank of yours.[/

Thank you Keith!

Tank is doing good. having coral war between huge red table and purple slimer. both corals touching eachother and TNing at the base.
how do you deal with this since you have big colonies? or i should just let it go....

I do all of the above. I generally don't move frags encrusted to the base rock but those attached to little pieces of rock are moveable. Again, my advice is to keep this to a minimum since it stresses the corals.

Thanks....it's not easy for sure and it certainly is a lot of work. Well worth it though.

I switched to ESV salt about a year and a half ago.
