Gangrene

Blue Zoo Aquatics:

I bought a "pretty big" order to start off my new tank. It was a 25 gallon algae and detritus cleanup crew, firefish, bicolor bleeny, scooter bleeny, yellow headed jawfish, false clown, and the polyp grab bag. (69) animals in all, not counting individual polyps.

It was delivered on time at 10:28 in the morning. There were a lot of bags and it was all in good condition.

Only thing that would have been better was if the items were individually labeled.

My water stats were spot on.

I followed their acclimation guide to a T and it took quite a while to add the fish, inverts, and corals as they were done separately. Not a problem though.

The jawfish was tiny, an inch or less(smallest one I have ever seen), he didn't make it overnight and was dead the next morning. It was very sad as he seemed to be doing fine. He had built a burrow right where I was planning for it. They promptly gave me a credit for the fish.

The clownfish acted strangely the entire time. He would swim up and down the glass like a deranged animal and even my wife and daughter wondered about it. It eventually stopped eating and died 7 days after acclimation. I have since put in two true clownfish from my LFS and they are doing fine.

I never got a spike on anything and my water quality has been very stable.

Overall, Mark from Blue Zoo gave me great advice and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Prompt delivery. I was very satisfied with the transaction. Other than those two fish and possibly a snail, thats 66/69 survival. I don't think that's too bad considering they went from California to Ohio. I would give them a 4.5 out of 5 and I'm a pretty harsh critic. Great Job!
