5 Day Old Water Safe?

Everything has come up with week and I haven't had a chance to do my WC. Is it safe to use 5 day old water? It's been in the bucket with a powerhead the entire time...no lid.

Thanks,

I would check the SG just to make sure it didn't change too much if there was some evaporation. Otherwise, it should be just fine. I use saltwater mixed over a month old and had no bad effects.

Some salt mixes, like Red Sea Pro Salt, precipitate when held over long periods, but as long as you're not making over, say, a 20% percent change, it really shouldn't matter. You can check the Ca and Alk if you're feeling paranoid.

Long as nothing harmful has been sprayed in the air by the water. Remember dust will be in the air. I always cover mine when not in use. You should be fine long as the water was being circulated by a pump.

Forgot to add - I keep a heater and power head going all the time so that there is always emergency water available.

i make 55 gallons of water for my auto water change system 5 gallons every other day. i rotate it within two separate containers , when the one being used gets near the bottom i will mix salt into the 2nd one then refill the first with my ro/do freshwater tank. That will trigger it to make more ro/di water.

the water storage / mixing system has 3 tanks. 1 for ro/di two for mixing and saltwater. this gives me 150 gallons of ro/di water at all times . JUST In case..

water sits in our tank uncovered with water movement and heater = can sit uncovered in a bucket with power-head and heater
like stated above just check Sg if making too large a water change
