5-dollar peacock online?

Well, if you look at their homepage, their logo is " You don't need a pet supplier where the pets are smarter than the help!" They must be supplying O. scyllarus!

I have not seen O. scyllarus available wholesale for $5 in the past several years. I strongly doubt that they could supply O. scyallarus for that prince.

It makes me curious as to what kind of Stomatopod you would be recieving if you ordered it though. You could email them and ask if all the "Peacock mantis shrimp look the same" "what their biggest is" and "what it looks like". If they say they all look alike, but don't sound anything like a peacock, you could buy it out of curiosity and stick it in a spare ten gallon. It is only 5$ plus shipping. If I had a spare 10 gallon and 30 extra $$$ I would do it. In fact I think I have a 10 gallon freeing up in 1-2 months. I might try it if someone else doesn't. (No promises)

i remember finding that site about 1 year ago!

first thought "Yeah right..." but i am curious on what it is!

can you imagine having a colorful peacock mantis shrimp, at 2 inches?! you can say you got it for $5!

I found this on lurkers guide to stomatopods. Apparently they got the Shell mantis from that place. It does not say whether this is the "peacock" or some hitch hiker, or just an extra thing that fell into their laps. I am emailing them right now. I will tell you the answers to the questions when they email them back

Cool. Yeah definitly post the response to the email. I would be interested in buying one just for the heck of it, except that I just put in an order at my local store. Maybe in the future i might try it as long as shipping isnt expensive.

I saw that too, a month ago I email them asking (politely) about the mantis, and they never responded...

So, I'd love to hear what their response is!

I saw this at least 3 years ago. Over the course of a year, I emailed them and called them about it without any success. Only 2 emails were responded to, and they both said they don't and will not have them in stock.

I think we have 3 or 4 separate confirmations that these guys really ARE upscaled by their mantis'.

Heck, the OS' are probably running the show!

"Myth Confirmed!"

Emailed them the following... wanted to bring out the "big guns" to see if they're smarter than their "not really stocked, but maybe" mantises:

Re: Mantis Shrimp

There's a group of us online that are interested in your store, so this is your chance to make some money, or to lose a lot of prospective customers.

I've emailed you twice, and other have re-emailed you many times, with little or no success. So tell us once and for all:

-Is your O. S. Mantis shrimp as listed in your invert inventory actually for sale, available, and if so what is the cost?

If we don't get any sort of responsible, definitive answers, we'll be sorry to put you on our "do not order from" list.

Please change our opinions of you, we hope for your honest answer!
-Prospective Customers

Haha, this is in part to tie up this loose string, put my own hopes to rest, and to get a bit of fun out of it. Let's see if they reply!

hahaha nice email andromedia! If they are a serious company they should definitely respond to this one. if not... well oh well for them.
