Well, that's a hell of an accusation that I'm some sort of scammer. I would have used a stock photo like everyone else does if I was trying to scam, not a macro shot of the actual coral. Those were indeed Purple Hornets. Why don't you go Troll a different thread.

Nope just don't like when people sell items misslabled. Google purple hornets. It goes purple good purple gold yours have skirts that are multicolored

I'd agree on the alternating skirts, but identifications get mixed up all the time. Nice frags, just too far from me.

Thanks guys, I just hate trolls. Whether they were "true" or some sort of other Purple Hornets, the good news is they looked exactly like what I posted, unphotoshopped.

Exactly, the zoa naming convention is in no way scientific. Providing an actually pic is the best one can do.

The original poster provided a picture of the animals, so others please keep comments on the naming to yourself. One brief, polite comment might be acceptable. Arguing is not.

Mike, thanks for the Hornets they are growing well. Regardless if they are "real" Purple Hornets or not I'm extremely happy with them. They've doubled in size. Honestly, these Hornets look better than those bleached out Purple Hornets above anyways. I'd pick these over those anyday! Lol. Here is an unedited pic. Enjoy!

Also, I can vouch for Mike. His tank is amazing and I've bought numerous frags from him before. Look at his amazingly detailed tank build journal thread if you have any doubts. I appreciate that he posts things for sale at affordable prices to fellow reefers but also contributes to these forums with useful info instead of the numerous For Sale threads.

I'll leave it at this, a. Maybe I was a little harsh in the first post but when I was a noob I over paid for red hornets that weren't so I have a soft spot for the issue. B. It was digital zoom on my phone, I'll whip out my DSLR tonight and I'll snap a picture. But to call me a troll? I'm trying to protect other people incase you inadvertently try and sell what appears to be macaws (I Believe) which are a few dollars a polyp compared to hornets which are roughly $20 a polyp. The only saving grace is you did post a picture

We can all agree its an honest mistake. The photo he posted accurately shows the actual frag. Honest mistake and the person that bought the frag knows and is fine with it. Back to enjoying reefing now?
