after seeing a fellow rc members 5.5 gallon setup it really got me going. today i started a stand and it is almost done but i still have to add the molding sides back and door in the front. im going to build a 6 inch canopy for it probably tomorow and will post up pics. heres the stand so far.

Thats a good loking stand you have, I have two home built stands silmilar to yours. Those 2 x 4's make them solid as a rock especially when they have wood panels nailed to the outside
 
yes they do mines pretty solid right now, and i still have a few things to do to it. hopfully i can get the canopy started today. :)

i drilled vent holes so the wood dosent get as meesed up as it will haha probably throw a layer of water proofer.

the setup so far, i made a door for the canopy but didnt have any hinges. kinda funny how i dont even have a tank yet.haha

added the canopy front and finaly bought a tank haha i DIYed my own lights im going to run the coralife 50/50 20 watt bulb in there just one of them i know i have 2 fixtures in there now but im taking one out. right now im currntly doing the wet test with fresh water cause i still have to finish my stand and canopy but so far so good. here are some pics...

i'd like to get some LR,and corals maby shrooms,and zoos,cleaner shrimp, ehter a clown goby or shrimp goby one of the two and 2 snails maby thats about it.
 
painted the back of the tank like a dark purplr looks pretty neat. i'll get some pics up soon. hopfully i'll be getting the sand and rock this weekend if all goes well.
 
well... had a bit of a problem with my 10 gallon. it started to leak so im currently putting this project on hold i did paint the back of the tank purple and im holding all my rock from my 10 gallon in there now so i took a few pic of the background with the rock and i'll post them up in a few minutes when there done uploading.
 
heres all my 10 gallon stuff in the 5.5 a little crowded but its not staying there.

Cool background, did you feather it out? Like darker on top to light on the bottom?

Or/ is that just a function of the lighting here? Either way, looks good.
