Hey everyone. I requested 5 replacement SPS from aquasd. So if yours RTN'ed the following day or was just dead to begin with LOL come over a get a replacement. They came in today and on a frag rack waiting to be taken home. PM me if your died and when you want to grab one. If there are left overs I will open it up to members who want to grow it out and share it with the club.

The last one pictured seemed to be the worst one out of the 5.

I had a piece RTN on me. But I won't be in the area for a while. But will be going out to BAR.

How come AquaSD frags look so pale? Is it just they are overlit and then when they are shipped the corals panic because they have been in dark too long?

Or is it because AquaSD is dipping them before shipment?

How come those look just like freshly cut frags? Could that also be causing some of the coral stress?

Ron pick one and I'll bring it to the BAR swap if that's what your referring to.

As for your questions. Send aquasd a message.

Here's their setup from the site:

Our Coral System
"¢ 2000 gallons
"¢ Over 6000 watts of metal halides and T5s
"¢ Multiple pumps to keep our system circulating over 10 times an hour
"¢ Enductor outflow system on every outlet
"¢ Euro-Reef 12-6 Skimmer
"¢ We have fresh sea water delivered to us every week, to keep our water parameters at optimal levels.
"¢ Heaters and chillers are in place to keep our system at a steady 78 degrees.

Just by that they could be running 400's.....

I'd say 1 and 2 encrusted on the base 3 and 5 seems like they began to encrust on to the glue, the 4th looks cut. For the ones we got for the holiday give away a lot were fully encrusted which impressed me along with the size. Yes the draw back were pale corals and bit marks. But for some reason there are no bite marks on the ones I got in? I didn't dip either since I was by myself with the baby and just dip acclimated LOL. If you do send them a message I'd be interested to hear what they run. I'd bet 400's with the T5. I also how much more beneficial that natural sea water is? Anyways, let me know which one you want.

Just looked at the tank and seems like the coloration on them look 20-30% better. Maybe its like Will said, after receiving them it should be put into the tank its going to be in not a holding tank. Also the holding tank used for the holiday swap was lite with a single T5 or even a PC. So way under powered. So you say 24 hours in dark then, another 12 in low light. I'm sure it has some kind of affect how much I don't know.
