50,000 litre tank in a boutique hotel (Bangkok , Thailand)

With panels that large, and that much water volume, are you sure 9 cm (3.5 inches) is going to be thick enough? In comparison to the acrylic tanks people use, it just seems really thin to me. I mean I have a 150 gallon acrylic and the panels are around 3/4 an inch thick. That's just 150 gallons.

With such a big project you must be under lots of stress, I know I would. Hope all goes well and you have a successful hotel when open. I was in Bangkok 7 years back when Chingchai set up his tank. He gave me tour of his tank, was awesome. If I visit Bangkok again, I would love to see this setup. Thai people love taking things to the extreme, as Chingchai says "life too short to drink bad wine"

If the tank is made purely from acrylic , yes, it would be too thin . However the display tank is made from concrete and only viewing panels are made from acrylic so the panels do not have to be as thick .

You may have answered this but I was wondering what your plan is regarding the water itself. Will you be buying salt in bulk or using natural seawater? If you are using seawater, will you be pretreating it?

Black granite surface for the rim in order to create a thin water film effect as the water overflow passes over the granite rim into surge tank .

Still undecided whether to use natural seawater or salt mix . I am inclining to use salt mix as I will be harvesting macro algae (Caulerpa lentillifera) in the refugium. These seaweeds will be used as health food in the restaurant . In order to be able to label "no heavy metal contaminants" I may have to opt for salt mix . But I will have to decide later .

I love the idea of littlerally being able to see where your food came from haha. Salt mix may be better as there will be no contaminants hurting your fish and coral.

Have to send the forklift back as it is too small to lift the beast ( acrylic panels) . Now they are sending me a 7 ton forklift instead .
