50 Gal stocking

im starting a 50 gal with 10g sump.

this is my wish list for fish, too much? too little?

2 x clarkii clownfish
1 x yellowtail damselfish
1 x six line wrasse
1 x royal gramma basslet
1 x yellow clown goby
1 x flame angel.

if you were starting a 50 gal, what would your stock list look like?

That is a decent amount of fish for a 50 gallon, but should be fine. If it was me I'd nix the yellowtail from the list, but thats just personal opinion haha. Other than that it's a good list although I do see that some of the fish on the list are a little more aggressive IMO such as the damsel, and clarkiis. Also sixlines can be aggressive sometimes as well, but that for the most part is just directed towards other wrasses.

yea, i think the damsel is out and the clarkiis will be replaced with ocellaris.

Ocellaris clowns are probably the best choice, much more peaceful than other clowns. As for the damsel thats probably a good decision, I know some people say theres isnt aggressive or some species are less aggressive than others, but in most cases they become the terrors of the tank.

If I was stocking a 50 gallon tank, I would do this:

Lemon Peel Angel
2x Oce Clownfish
Scott's Fairy Wrasse
Starki Damsel

Good color combination, movement, and compatibility.

Scott's fairy wrasse get to large and active IMO, go with a flasher or a smaller fairy like a lubbocks.

I wouldn't put a flasher in a tank less than 4 feet long, that's after having one years ago in a 3 foot tank...it didn't have enough room when it got going.

Out of your list, I'd skip the damsel and the sixline wrasse & go with the rest.

I'd personally stick with clarkii clowns. IMO, ocellaris are so common that they lost their appeal to me. Whether or not the damsel will be aggressive, you won't be sure until you have it. In larger tanks they are more peaceful as they are going to be able to have more space to themselves. It's when you have them in smaller tanks where they don't have room for their own space that people run into problems. However, I would highly recommend you take the sixline off your list, especially if you want a royal gramma. Royal grammas are better looking, IMHO. Otherwise you look good.

pacific redstripe hog- red/white striped

hard to find a good blue fish that is not a damsel and small.

1 blue line goby.
1 chalk bass.
1 yellow banana wrasse.
