50 Gallon Food Grade Barrels for $20

Hi All,

A guy in Mareysville is selling these 50 gallon, food grade barrels with screw on secured lids with gaskets. I already contacted him and told him that there might be other people interested in them from MARS. He has about 40 and is willing to deliver to one of our meetings if there is enough interest. His truck and trailor can hold 30. I will try and post a pic, but as a newbie, I often have difficulties w/ that....It's on Craigslist if you run a search.

Any other's interested?

They are used. He used them for brining olive's. A little vinegar and water and I am sure they will clean up nice!

Rich - I don't know but if you PM me I can give you his number.

Hi Jeff,

I'll take one for pickup at meeting. I'll pay extra, too, for one that's newer/cleaner;)

Thanks!

Karl

Well so far it looks like we have 8 barrels including 2 for me!

Keep in mind that I am only involved in this as a favor to MARS, I have no affiliate with the seller....just found him on craigslist :)

Here's the situation... I will confirm with him on Thursday night total amount of people that are interested in the barrels. But I am going to call him tomorrow to verify if he can make it on Friday night. He has NOT confirmed with me as of yet. I know that he would apprecite around 30 barrels to deliver but I think we can talk him into less. Otherwise it would be p/u in Marysville. I know that a standard p/u can fit about 6. And since Marysville is a little out of the way for some of us, I thought that it would be a good group buy sort of thing!

Just trying to help fellow reefers.

PLEASE be positive that you want a barrel so that I don't have this nice farmer drive out for nothing!

To answer some questions:

Unarce/Buskey - I really don't know if there are any "newer" or "better" barrels. But I know that these can be easily cleaned and they won't leak. Plus they have screw on lids w/ gaskets so you store them anywhere.

xia- I thought we can just pay him direct at the meeting w/ cash. They are only $20 ea. And these usually cost around $100 new.

I was actually kidding, Jeff:p

However, if you get me the pick of the litter, you're Bali Tricolor frag is free;)

Fixed...my bad!

I think I'm just worried that the misses wont' let me keep it in the downstairs closet if it looks 'dirty'.

WAH PUH!

I have been extremely happy with the 2 55 gallon food grade barrels that someone posted several months ago. Every reefer should have at least one (I use one for RO and one for aged SW).
