Did you double stack the particle board shelves to get above the rivets?
I just set up the menards stand and threw the bottom tank in. Looked at it for a second and noticed it was sitting directly on the rivets. I can see yours are up above the rivets. I'm going to double stack the shelves and see how that works.
You can edit posts for like an 30m - 1h after posting.
Easier like you did and just post another one up.
Looks real good so far. Really like the way the rock looks! Giving me ideas for the 265 when I am ready to do it.
My exwife had one of those dogs. We just put it down last week.
Ya I ended up having to double up on the boards to get them high enough. Otherwise it was such a tight fit and just the corners of the tank were supported. I think the slightly cheaper stand would have worked out better even though it supported half the weight per shelf at 500 pounds but still more then enough.
To break it in and its not hurting anything.Following this thread as I have a 500 gallon acrylic tank being installed in my home 1 st weekend in June and having the filtration room in the basement like you have, we actually just finished building the 11' x 13 ' filtration room this past weekend. I have to ask why are you running your skimmer is it for break in reasons?
Man we seem to have a lot in common here. Same tank dimensions, same stand, same dog. Whats next lolLove the rockwork. I have the same breed of dog also. She is a hyper little bugger. Not only have you stolen my design ideas, you have stolen my dog too. Just kidding. Excellent job on your build.
Nice choices on the fish. I want to add a few genicanthus to my next tank. Probably bellus and watanabei. And my wife wants a unicorn and vlamingi so she would be jealous.
Thanks, I want a vlamingi as well but have never seen one locally. Looks like the only option is online which I have never purchased livestock online. I like to be able to see them first.
I messaged the builder on facebook. I guess the guy in charge just got back from being sick. I was told he would be in contact with me. This was Friday afternoon. I just want a date so I can plan. If they just call me and say o its done come and get it i wont be too happy as its not like i have 8 people that can help with no notice. If you do ever shop online for one I would recommend divers den. They put a good clear photo of every exact fish online and I think they only sell fish that are eating. They are in Wisconsin too.
BTW I know what you mean about getting the fish a little larger than you wanted, sometimes you need to get them while they are available. We just picked up a 4.5" Dussumieri. Wish it was a little smaller but what can you do.
Any word on when the tank will be finished?
