No I have never had a deep sand bed and no problems.Any issues with the carpet nem without a deep sand bed?
Coming along nicely![]()
Thanks, the coraline is spreading pretty good to make it all purdy!
I put the screen covers on and you could see a noticable drop in light with my eyeballs so I turned them up some, ended up frying out a couple of sps pieces in there and I moved them. Turned the lights back down.
Yes apparently my eyes do not make a good par meter. Waiting for that Neptune one to come out. Even though I find it kind of silly as its only monitoring one single point in the tank.Yeah don't you love doing that![]()
Kind of noticed with the big tank that once I took care of the phosphates with GFO and the GHA went away, the purple started coming in fast.
Also never really monitored ALK before I added some coral. Bumped it up to 7.5 and now it's really taking off. Was hanging around 6.2 or so.
I never had good success with GFO with the old system, seemed to cost a boat load of money and not do enough. I used lanthanum chloride and a 10 micron filter sock to remove the phosphate I had initially, which only took 5ml and it was gone next day. Great big bottle for pools will last forever lol and was about $20.
Hmmm I love saving money
GFO just worked extremely well for me without using much. I even used the cheap normal (non high capacity) stuff off of eBay.
Going to look into making my own 2 part solutions as well. No way I'm paying the prices per gallon of the off the shelf stuff for how much I'll blow through...
So far all the 2 part I have used is the stuff from BRS. As it is now, the 5 gallon buckets I have prepared with the stuff last for several months before I have to refill lol.
I see you have pyramid butterfly again, I would get but waiting for current quarantine fishies to go in.
That's good to hear
Was thinking I'd blow through it...
When do you think they'll go in?
Drop me an email Thursday and I'll hold them for you.
How many?
