Getting my daily lift in

My favorite resident, also the most difficult to feed as he only eats large pellets and very unagressive when it comes to feeding. I have to keep everyone else busy otherwise they would eat it all before he gets any. Pretty much feed when my sunset is nearly done or sunrise is just starting so the other fish cant see as good.

I have a feeling Tang Destroyer is going to give me trouble with my achilles tangs, but its worth it. If I have to pull him I will.

Looking to get the Canon 100mm IS Macro lens so I can get closer. This Tamron 60mm Macro I have now just wont get quite close enough as it will not 100% focus when I get close to the glass.

I really like your marine beta, bummer that it is hard to feed. I would like to eventually pick one of those up but want to stay away from picky eaters in the display, and tough to feed fits into my picky eater category. Have you had any marine betas before and if so was that one hard to feed as well?

This would be the first one I have had. I don't see them much in the stores but when I do they are quite a bit smaller then this guy too. I don't feed him everyday, probably more like every 2-3 days.

I was just looking at them on the live aquaria website and it says they are nocturnal, must be why its easier to feed at dusk and dawn situations, and feeding every 2-3 days isnt too bad actually, I could swing that for such a beautiful fish. One thing I did see is that they will eat small fish tho. Would they eat wrasse and anthias sized fish or are we talking tiny tiny fish?

I think very tiny. **** my Mata Tang ate a firefish I tried to add. Only lasted a few minutes and was hanging out of his mouth. I had a purple pseudochomis in there and it was never touched until it jumped out during my angelfish wrestling match. All 3 cleanrs are intact too. He has even been in the cave by them but they won't clean him.

Man your tank has progressed since the last time I seen it. Great job you've done. Love the selection of fish and I can't say enough about your aquascape.

WOW, your mata ate the firefish, LOL! Ok good to hear, sounds like only tiny fish will be consumed by the beta, but hey watch out for those mata tangs LOL! I bet they know he is a predator and don't want the beta to come up with any ideas while they clean him.

I forgot I have a cardinal in there too, probobly my smallest in there currently. I have terrible luck with them for some reason. First 3 all died in QT, got three again and all but one died. Cardinal is nocturnal as well and hasnt been eaten.

I have 2 skunk clowns and 2 maroon clowns waiting to go in. The skunks are little guys and will have to watch out for Mata!
