I recently saw an add advertizing these 5000 Gal turbelle........has anyone tried these yet?.....are they in the states?

Rvitko......I reside in Ontario Canada and it seems the only place to get the tunze products is from JL Aquatics.......Is there anywhere else I could obtain these?

Any feedback is very much appreciated :)

Phil Gilbert of Giesemann is the distributor for the province of Quebec- you may ask him. The 5200gal/hr Stream will be out in April. I believe 20 beta test units exist and I think I have the only one outside of Europe but I could be wrong. I am fairly certain most went to France, if it was a French reef forum this would make sense.

Thanks for your help............Purchasing from Quebec requires one take a mortgage out on their house........double even triple the price on some products over there.

Do you know what the wattage draw is from these 5000 gal units....correct me if I am wrong, but is the 1600 gal 4 watts, the 3000 gal 40 watts?

Thanks again for your fast response :)

The 6060(1600gph) is 12W and the 6080(2250gph) is 22W. These are the wattages of the 115V models which is slightly higher than the 230V models. The Electronic models use 15W for the 6000(800-1800gph), 40w for the 6100(1400-3200gph). The 6200 will use 65W and will also be variable, likely between 2500 and 5200gph. The Electronic pumps use about 20% of their power outside the aquariums in computers and transformers. They suffer a bit as they get bigger because the low voltage current encounters a higher resistance.

Keep in mind the 6200 has a 2.5" nozzle compare to the 2" nozzle of the other Streams. This means the flow carries only 6-7ft but is even wider than the 6100 whose flow also carries about 6-7ft.
