500G (84X48X30)- NOW REAL !

See how nice the fuller shots look... thanks.

You'll need to be adding some AEFW to slow the growth down in there :)

Sanjay your tank looks great!!!! You are the "master". I'm planning to do a modification of your blocks for my 220...

Simply spectacular, Sanjay! I see you now have two cardinals again. I shall assume one to be one of my babies. The tank looks amazing. So much more full than when I was there. Thanks for the pics.

Yes, one of them is yours. The 2 I got from you.. one of them killed the other as they matured. Then I added another one, that too was killed off. Added a third one, and that one was easily accepted, so I guessed that was the female. Now, the male is carrying babies I think since I have not seen him eat in several days.

Aw... my baby is going to be a daddy! I know you have too much flow and life in that tank for the babies to have much of a chance though. Im glad to hear another one is alive somewhere, especially in one of your tanks. He's almost famous. haha

I was thinking about putting a school of them into my tank until I learned that unless mated, they will kill each other off.

the tank is looking absolutely beautiful sanjay, i cant believe how quickly everything has grown and how established the tank looks in a relatively short amount of time.

wow simply awesome. how long has the tank been up and running?

Tank has been running since late Oct, the first corals and fish went in sometime in early-mid November. The comparison with pics from Nov really show how much stuff has grown.

amazing growth.

Are you still on MH only? Great colors!

And I love the aquascaping.

Yep, still running MH with no supplements.

Thanks,

sanjay.

must say this is a great looking tank and I love the aquascaping, i love the look of the more open sandbed. I have a few questions if I may. Did you need to use any sort of special landscaping blocks to make the bottoms or do anything to them to make them "safe" for your tank? Where can I find the clear fiberglass tubes to run through the rocks?

and the thorite (sp?) that was used to attach small rocks together something avialable at home improvement stores?

thank you and beautiful tank.

thank you and beautiful tank.

If you look through the earlier posts in the thread you will see that I used paving blocks from lowes as the base.. that way it is nice and flat. All I did was wash them.

I used white fiberglass rods.. and a few clear acrylic rods. I had planned to go with acrylic but it was not rigid enough and I had to switch to fiberglass.

I found the thorite at a local hardware store, not a chain store.

love the rockwork, what bulbs are you running at the moment?

My tank spawned a 12G baby :-)

nano-1-080107.gif

Tank is a 12G JBJ from nanotuners.com with a 70W 10K MH and 2 18W power compact actinics with the probe chillers. Nicely made setup, and looks like the corals love it too.

Still thinking about adding in some sand to it, not liking the bare bottom look.

Current fish population is a pair of Yasha Gobies, that would much rather spend time hiding than showing themselves.

That australian scolymia is just awesome !!
