okay obviously the tank and stand are sweet...yup

But for now.......WOW that floor is sick! Do tell the process yeah?

ha, I will have to tell my wife that...it was all her idea. She came home one day and said I am ripping up the carpet and painting the concrete...I was like huh? I had never heard it but did really care all that much so she and her friends ripped up the carpet and started priming and staining and painting...LMK if you want more details I can ask her...but they did it while I was at work...apparently its the "in" thing now???

what the kitchen looks like when you don't have a living room!

Man.....do ask her when you get a chance yeah?

from my wife:

1) rip up carpet :)
2) scrape all paint, glue, tack strips, spots or raised areas off of the concrete.
3) fill in any holes or dips in concrete, including the holes from the nails where the tack strips were with concrete (we used a pre-mixed tub, took 6 hours to harden)
4) sand areas that you applied the filler concrete.
5) sweep the concrete really well, and then mop it with a concrete cleaner. (purchased from home depot)
6) 2 coats of primer. i believe it was concrete primer - we used white, but depending on what colors you are wanting your floor will depend what color primer you want.
7) apply base coat. we used black so we only needed 1 coat. most colors will require 2 or even 3. (i'm not sure if it was special concrete paint or not, i'll have to check)
8) sponge roll on your next color - we used a very light gray. cover all areas semi-evenly but without making a pattern. go in different directions and whatnot.
9) apply concrete stain. we used a black concrete stain. we hand sponged the entire floor. you soak the sponge in stain, then rub it around on the floor in a circular motion to cover an area, then you dab the sponge over that layer to give it the marbley look.
10) apply sealer. it's a clear sealant. i did 2 coats. the more you do the more protected the floors are.
11) collapse and die because it's a pain in the arse.

did you order it from glass cages.if you dont mind could you pm me the price you paid.im assuming its not starfire,

its this one..the just said since the glass comes 130 that I could have the 130 for the same price.

485 C 2.5 120 x 31 ½ x 30 ½ $2400

man, its funny how you rarely see tanks this big for fw but it is more common for sw, I guess I know what I will eventually want after I make the leap to sw....

nothing too exciting...just fitting together the plumbing...I will probably glue it tomorrow....sooo long before I can fill this thing :(
