I have a quick question. My tank has been set up for about a year and a half. Have a new BTA and just got 2 percula clowns. How long does it usually take for them to host the anemone? I bought the clowns together and they are both small about an inch. The anemone has been in the tank about a week sooner than the clowns.

looks like you've done everything right (assuming lighting/flow/feeding is good)

Some clownfish (especially perc and ocellaris) will simply never host an anemone but usually they go in within a couple months.

ohhhh nooo you mean I bought the wrong clowns! the tank is fine, fish are doing great as is the coral. I have good lighting. all the readings are good! and I bought the wrong clowns
Maybe I should return them and get what? I wanted to hopefully have the anenome host them or vice versa.

You didn't buy the wrong fish at all. Percula are full of personality. They may not be crazy about hosting but if htey do decide to host they'll be very happy with a BTA.

Personality is good, but isn't it better for the anemone if they do?
I know they help by bringing in food. I am feeding it now but have seen how they do that. I always thought they needed eachother, kind of. OK ill keep the fish see what happens. Thanks!

Nah, they are both quite capable of living long and happy lives without one another in aquaria.

However; you should feed your anemone occasionally.
