Ok i've been out of the hobby for a couple years and have recently been hit by the bug again due to my friend's setup. so im going to be setting up a 55G FOWLR now these are the questions that i have, This is what i plan on getting for it and will this stuff be fine.

thats what i have picked out so far will this stuff do fine? Also as for a sump what all am i going to need and how big of one would i need for a 55g? Also i was thinking 2-4 power heads any input on that will also be greatly apprceicated thanks. O i was thinking 50lbs of sand and 30lbs of LR to let it cycle with?

Thanks so much Kyle.

Yeah i was told by my friend that there a little over kill but wont be that bad i'm thinking of possibly addings a nem to the tank later on so i think the lights will help with that.?

I have a set up very much like yours. I have a 55 with an over flow like yours. I got a 20 gal long and put deviders in for the sump. I went with 2 sieo 620 power heads, for the display tank. The heater in the sump is 300 watts but, I think in florida you would be ok with the 150 watt. I went with a via aqua 400 gph pump for the sump return. I think light is good and you should be able to get some good live rock local in florida. I would up the live rock a little but you can do it in stages. I went with this guy and his rock was off the hook

Do you have any pics of your setup? im trying to get some more ideas of how i want to set stuff up and everything.

I have a 58g Reef, and all I can say is don't bother with the 1250. I bought it and was disappointed, the flow was very weak at 4 feet, so I have it as a very overkill top-off pump right now.

Go with the Eheim 1260, you will not be disappointed. I can't say enough good things about the 1260... quiet, strong enough... buy it.

Sorry, I ddin't notice that the overflow was only rated at 300. Given that, you might want to keep the 1250. The only other things I hated about the 1250 was that it has something like a 3/8" threaded return. It is a pain to find fittings for it if you want to go rigid plumbing.

If you go to the member gallarys and search "Deep6" you will see a couple shots of the front and back of my tank.

Those Current USA fixtures have really loud fans. I'm a huge fan of the Coralife PC for around the same $$$. The Coralife is silent.

As far as powerhead, I would go with either the Tunze Turbelle NanoStream Pump 6025 or Hydor Koralia 3 Circulation Pump/Powerhead.

I've narrowed it down those two; also have a 55 gallon setup.

That the one you got? also how do those mount on the tank or do they need to be hung? i want one similar to the one that i had. Thanks for all the help I'm really glad you said that you pointed out that they are loud I'm looking for it to be as quite as i can get it. Thanks again.
