55g sump

ok well ill be moving into the new house by may 15th and when i do move ill be setting up my 125g with my 55g underneath as sump/fuge :D ... since that date seems to be approaching so fast i want to start to figure out exactly where my baffles will be , how many i will need ect.... have any of u converted a 55 into a sump???? any suggestions on how many baffles or where they should be???? the last sump i built i used melves site as a guide and ive been pretty happy with his design but just wanted to possibly see a few other options

This is my current sump/fuge as i was space constricted we made a 40 -wanted a lot bigger but so far so good.

My 50G sump is similar to Gasman's but I included a shelf of honeycomb plastic in the intake compartment so that I could add bags of carbon in the water stream.

Also make sure that the last baffle before the return pump is open at the bottom so that bubbles don't get into the return.

Yup I do have them micron bags now as well-this pics are old
 
Just make the return pump area big... less of a chance that your return area going dry and killing the pump.

yea thats one thing i know for sue that i wanna do since my last sump i made that section kinda small
 
look in the photo gallery, they have pics of sumps and plan in the equipment section. i know there were a couple of 55g plans in there, plus you can get alot of ideas of other size sumps as well
 
my returns small, its perfectly fine as long as you have a top off system.

my favorite design is melevs sump F setup.
