I am starting a new reef...

Tank is 30" x 18" x 24"

There is a center brace that is 2" thick, each section beside the center brace is 13" wide.

Was thinking of doing a MH with VHO actinic or T5 actinic supps.

MH x2 ... 150W HQI? 250W HQI? SE? 175 SE?

Please help me choose... want to be able to keep all kinds of sps, clams, my rbta, etc etc etc....

Thanks in advance.

I have that exact tank. :D

I'm using a Coralife Aqualight Pro (150W MH, 2x65W PC). Originally I was going for 250W, but had problems with the ballast, so I exchanged it.

I had to cut out the center brace and replace it with clear acrylic to avoid a shadow on the rocks. I imagine 2 MH bulbs would work better.

If you're going to go with 2 bulbs, then a couple 150's or 175's would probably be good. Two 250's seems overkill for a tank with only a 30" footprint.

hey thanks for the input... i am now thinking 2x 150W HQI should be quite nice in a pair of ROIII Plus pendents with 2x phoenix 14K bulbs and 2x icecap ballasts... what does everyone think?
