i am taking one HD shot at "highnoon" ( less blue light so the camrea can see better) and doing 5 fps so basically a years worth of shots daily will only be a 1 min 13 seconds- my goal is to show aggressive growth bc 1 year in 1 min will look crazy
any input would be awesome

Well a story for your wife, my "new gf" has been hanging out since i started plannng this and i used your tank to get her pumped about it being a art piece as much as a tank sooo she got on board and now is right by my side and pushing me to get everything done. pretty awesome
except she wants pscyh wrasses ! eek!

Looking good. Shoot me a pm of where you got your tank from. I'm debating getting a custom and really like what I can see of yours. Also, what did you do with the Elos?
 
Thanks guys more updates coming ASAP - family in town bc of thanksgiving doing it early - got the 1' line ran for frag tank and and 1' ran to slimmer area- almost done running the 2inch line - it hybrid Pvs/flexible barbs etc! It's pretty Intresting - I post pics on Sunday :)

Dustin - do custom , get what you want and be done with it - instead of spending time effort and money on tank after tank- I would love to talk design - you thinking rimless? Bc you should - looks just like 'our' Elos but larger
 
That's the plan for sure. I might be interested in getting the Elos back if you're planning on getting rid of it. I kind of miss it. Ha ha. Hit me up if you are planning on letting to of it.
 
Are those metal rods you used to make the rock arch made of stainless steel? I ask because if they are chrome or nickel plated there is a pretty high chance of copper plating under the outer plating. It may do you well to take a piece of sandpaper or a file to the other piece of that set and find out..

Hello all
getting closer, i got all the drains plumbed - the left side of the sump has a 2' inch and 1' inch drain. the right side of the sump has a 1' drain plumbed into so we can get some slower water movement for frags and refug/pod area.

for anyone that has never plumbed a tank. tank your time, use a tape measure and make sure you dont glue till ur angels are right.

My set up is a hybird- we used sch 80 sch 40 pvc and then also braided nylon tubing- it says its flexable butttt the 2'inch is very hard to work with so we did the hardest turn with pvc then used slip/barbs and some muscle to get it all together -

Got the return all ran minus a silly 1.5 inch nipple peice that i had to order - booo!


doing the over flow box tomorrow after work.

Then water time! ekk! this is my firsst run at Zeo soooooo any newbie advice please send my way

Its been awesome seeing this come along from your original ideas to what's in your house now. Very proud to have offered a miniscule amount of help throughout the process. Can't wait to see it in person in a couple of months dude

@Dustin...I bought the elos from shawn about two months ago. Still no water, but am getting closer to having it set up. I'll surely have a tank build thread (prob not on sps forum though :lmao:). side note: I went to high school/OU with Laura too. but am a year before shawn and her. I'll take good care of the tank.
 
Anxious to see your progress Shawn. I ordered my custom rimless from Planet Aquariums today and it should be ready in about 3-4 weeks. I'm excited to get it and get my new build going. Looks like they make nice tanks.

I didn't go through them. There is a store in Tulsa that uses them so that's who I went through. Dims on my sig are correct. I'm stoked.
