57g Rimless Build

My biocube has been at a stable 81-82 F most of its life. Its that cheap crappy stock pump that keeps it that hot too. I like the extra heat because it makes things grow really quickly! I haven't seen such growth and happiness before in any tank Ive had.

Gotta say the fish have been model citizens in my tank. That is if your the one who gave them to me. And if you are. Thanks

I may have been, I have the same name on the other forum. The tang was never a problem I just felt bad having it in a small tank and the flame never bothered my coral I only suspected that it was nipping at my clam. Never actually saw anything nip at it but I feel like the flame could be the biggest culprit. Glad to hear they are doing well though!!

Thats pretty interesting, the reason I was worrying is because from what I have read is that most people don't let their tanks go past 79-80F So I kind of freaked out when I saw my temp at 81.

My biocube would hover around 82-83 and no problems, even got up to 84-85 at times. Only issue with that is that any increase beyond that 82 and you are in the danger zone quick, but no problem with 82 as long as its stable. Once I switched to LEDs and MP10, it would hover in the 79-80 range. I prefer 78-79 because there's room to go up or down in case of either a power failure or a cold snap.

Oh, and to give you more unsolicited advice, may wand to give yourself a little more room on the side glass for cleaning;)

Happy birthday to me!

What I did yesterday was remove the first baffle in the sump section to give me more room for the sump because the intake was right against glass and now it seems to be skimming a lot better.

Picked up a new bleached haddoni that I'm hoping to save. It was in decent shape just bleached and wasn't in a tank that had lighting. I waited a few day before I put it in my DT it's there now and seems to be doing fine.

Here is a picture of it at the store.

I'll be buying one of these tanks in the next few months. Gathering materials for the build as i wait impatinetly.

Awesome!! Should be easy to set up the plumbing, my sump is a 20L and I only needed a couple of feet of 3/4" and 1" pvc and a few fittings for each.

Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread. No major changes have happened just a few frags here and there.

Here is what that bleached out anemone look like now....

The color is a green/blue! Can't wait to see how it looks in a few months time!

I also went to Orlando this weekend for a friends graduation but couldn't leave without picking up a box of goodies...

Happy new year to all! To start off the new year I acquired a new fish to add to the family. I have a little algae that becomes visible every now and then, since I no longer have a yellow tang I needed something new. I went with a starry blenny since I hear they are pretty good with eating algae and my 57 is big enough for one. Now that it's comfortable in my tank it has been chowing down! I also had to purchase some nori to keep him/her happy.

Starry blenny is a cool fish. I used to have one and he got the most attention and interest. He used to run my tank! How are those milles doing? Did you crank up the flow?

Still no luck with them. I lost both of the ones pictured above. They never showed polyp extension like what I saw in your tank. I think I'm going to wait to buy another mp10 before I try another milli. I'm also moving in February so I won't be buying anything until then..... I think.
