57g Rimless Glass Pane Replacement

Hey,

Does anyone have a cracked tank or knows someone that does? I need to replace a glass pane on a failed DIY overflow tank.

Cracked it while on the 3rd hole! :angryfire:

Anyway, its 36"x20"x0.5" glass. The only place I got a quote from so far was almost the cost of the tank.

Then I have a ton of work that needs to be done to do it correctly and in the end its probably not worth the risk (peace of mind). Going to give it a try tho if I can find the materials cheaply.

57g rimless Edge Deep Blue Professional tank

If I don't get any hits then I'm going to sell my components. Not much but the overflow and sump baffles. I'm going to keep the plumbing for future use.

Here is my DIY overflow w/ cover.

I tried Coast to Coast but they won't replace it and I got a quote from the local guys just for the glass. I discussed repairing it with local glass places but I don't think its the kind of detail work I want to trust with them.

Not sure I would trust my accuracy either considering I'm the one that crack it to be begin with. Of course all the crappy $1/g tanks were drilled fine but the one I did care about got messed up.

Just working on upgrading to the 120G thats been sitting in my basement now.

I broke the side of my38 gallon refugium and replaced it myself. All you need is the right size and thickness replacement aquarium safe silicone and masking tape.
