And I can't remember for the life of me what this guy is. It is growing well and looks great.

Let me know what you guys think, and can someone ID that green one for me.

The hammer and the torch were traded at a frag swap here in Nashville for some of the new coral frags.

CS- The lighting is actually a 15 watt 50/50 t8 and a 10 watt coralife 50/50 cf. Some people will say that it is not enough light for some of the coral that I have, but they are all doing great under it.

Doesn't sound like a lot of light, but when it's only got a few inches of water to penetrate as opposed to a foot or two it makes a big difference.

Great tank...I love the dimensions!

Thanks for the info Ben. I am setting up a 5 gallon at work to replace my 2.5 gallon. The new tank has 24 watts of t5s and it is good to see what you are having success with with your setup.

Is that the "bookshelf aquarium"?

If so, what modifications did you make to it? And how did you get 2 forms of lighting on it? I've eyed that tank before thinking it'd be a great little reef tank... Just need a heater, a much better filter, and a small power head...

It is the bookshelf aquarium from petco. I didn't do any mods on it, I just used a little light fixture for the screw in coralife bulb and set it on the back side of the tank. I am using the filter from the setup, and have found that you really don't need a heater. The heat from the lights keep it plenty warm. I tried a heater and it was getting too warm.

Huh, thats awesome.. I think I might end up doing the same thing..

I'd probably like to put one of the Coral life compact flourecents on it.. But is there such a thing as corals getting TOO MUCH light? lol. And yeah, I think heat would be a problem.. hmm.

Yeah, with too much light you can bleach them out. I would like to put 1 of the 65 watt setups on there, but money is tight right now. I don't think you would have much of a problem unless you went nuts and put a couple hundred watts on it:eek1: . At night, my tank is bound to cool off a little, because I am not running the heater thats in it. But it stays pretty constant during the day. Oh and I do have one power head in there. Forgot to mention that.

Hmm.. I'd probably have to just get one of the single tube hoods then instead of the double bulb with fans like I wanted. That model puts out 130 watts as opposed to the 65w model.
