6" Clear PVC Fittings

I bought some 6" Clear PVC on the cheap, but I'm trying to figure out an end cap, so that it will stand upright. Everything I find seems to be rounded, so it will fall over.

Any ideas?

Use a flange just glue some pvc to cover the hole

just glue it to a piece of acrylic that is the diameter you want it, or square or whatever. You'll seal the tube and make a stand all at once.

They make closed flanges. If im not mistaken, they are called "Closet flange" and you should be able to find them at home depot.

Ok, a jumble of who knows what going on here.... hope to clarify a bit.

PVC and acrylic are not typically glued together, maybe he misread.

Toilet flange/closet flange not cool, and typically ABS. They are meant to be knocked out when done and rarely available in 6". If available in 6" PVC make sure it's not the knockout type.

a simple sheet of 1/4" -1/2" pvc, square, or round will do.
Solvent or heat weld it on, and it will form a permanent watertight bond

Fatdaddy, Farco Plastics in Jax had sheet PVC a few weeks ago. I paid about 8 dollars for a piece of black 1/4" that was roughly 16x48" drop. PVC glue glues it to PVC pipe.

Hm, strange. I finally have my pieces together, and it appears that the tube is acrylic and it doesn't fit standard 6" PVC fittings. It's slightly larger then 6" by maybe a 1/4".

I either need to start over or glue on a flat piece as recommended.

Question: That would make a decent bottom, but what do I do for a top? I need to open the reactor to add more material occasionally.

I'm starting to think I'm SOL.

You are going to need to do some fabrication. You will need to build or buy twist-lock or thumbscrew type flanges.
