6-line jumped-survival odds?

6-line

While doing some minor aqua shaping on my 28 NC yesterday I felt a sudden whizz and a breeze by my face. I looked back and saw my 2 inch long 3 year old 6 line wrasse lying beneath the kitchen table on the hardwood floor. I quickly scooped him up (we have cats) and then returned him into the water where he swam into the rocks. Afterwards I did see him swimming around the rocks but later that evening he was a no show during dinner but I found him resting under a ledge and figured he was done for the day. After lights on today and now he's still out.
What are the odds on survival? Did he receive internal injuries or something that may or took it overnight? Thoughts?

Likely will survive. If they survive the initial shock of impact it is a good chance. I have had fish dry to the touch revive, so you never know. The longer out of tank, the more chance of secondary bacterial infections to the skin and fins.

Dude....I had a diamond goby out of water for 5-10 mins and he surivve. It dose take a tow on them as I was not able to see him 1 whole day.

It wasn't the time out of water-which was probably less than a minute but the impact of jump the 8 feet onto the hard floor!
That said, my son said he saw him swimming around briefly today and I do see the hole where he's held up. His little eyes rotated which I shined a light near it so at least he's alive. The jump coupled with the re-aquascape may have caused his reclusiveness. Time will tell.

He should be fine...however, you missed the golden opportunity to keep him out of your tank!

Albano that was very cruel- however the though kind of crossed my mind ;-).... I am fond of that fish-not fond I really can't add another while he's there

I was working the other day and my car WALKED IN THE ROOM and stood up next to the tank and my Solar Wrasse jumped so hard he knocked my egg crate top right off (which is snugged down on the top for exactly that reason) and went about 4 feet from my tank onto my carpet..picked him up, tossed him back in, 24 hours of no show, and a week or so later he's perfectly fine, colors nice and bright swimming just fine..wrasses are crazy!!

Haha! Wellllll.. He walked in in 4 legs and proceeded to stand up on two, lit up a cigar and started reciting Scarface....lol
