Well it's been a full 7 days since I put in a green star polyp colony in my tank and still nothings happening. So I was wondering if there was any way I could coax them out ......perhaps with a nice stream of phytoplankton!!!!???. I dont want to be known as the only guy that killed gsps. Today I moved them lower in the tank hoping less light might make a difference if this is not a good idea someone please let me know.

I did a water test earlier today and everthings fine, amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0 ph 8.2 calcium 420 ppm temp 79f

Not trying to be to picky but have you tested your kH, or is it Kh  Alot of people that I deal with have lower values than they think. If the values between your tank and the one it was in were far apart it could still be adjusting a little.

I dont know what my kh is {no test kit} but acclimation was done the same as with my fish{1/2 cup in and out every 10 min}.As far as flow goes I"ve been told less flow and more flow leaving me somewhat confused, I've also been told by my local LFS that after 2 weeks is up and there still not out they are probably dead.

From what I've seen Green Stars are pretty hardy corals. Mone have gone 5 days withiut opening. Make sure nothing is bugging them such as a hermit crab ect. My cleaner shrimp will dance on my polyps now and then and theyll close up for a day. I also had two tubes break off a colony and it took about a month or so before I had a star show up. now there about 20 stars on thet piece. Hope it comes out for you

keep in mind that the less you move them around the more likely they are to come out

I agree with ItsMe,
Don't touch them. They really close up when you touch them.
They are probably O.K. make sure your Salinity is right and maybe try raising the temp a degree.
