60 gallon cube pump/lighting

I just got my first saltwater tank. The tank is 24x24x24 60 gallon cube. I need to get a pump and lighting. For the pump im looking at the mag 9.5 and I have no clue what to get for lighting. I would like to be able to grow whatever I want but not looking to break the bank either. Any recommendations are greatly needed.

definitely dont get a mag9 for a return. too hot and too much flow. ehiem makes better pumps which have use watts and pour less heat back into the system or a cheap alternative would be a quiet one 300o. personally i have a quiet one and works great.

ATI sunpower 6x24 for lighting, go with ehiem 1262, rather have the ability for extra flown then not enough, plus u can manifold it off to add carbon and phos reactors, do you have a skimmer or powerheads for tank ?

DO the ATI sunpower light have the blue leds to simulate moonlight. The website dosnt say and I kind of like that look for night.

if your not looking to break the bank, then i wouldn't be looking at an ATI. great fixture but a lot of $$$

my last tank was a 60g cube and i ran one 150w Metal halide w/ a 14k phoenix bulb. yes the heat was a problem but nothing a fan couldn't fix. i never kept SPS corals, but didn't have a problem keeping LPS or soft orals. if you wanted to keep SPS in the future i would just get a 250w metal halide. you can find a nice fixture for under $100.00

Mag9 is big for that system. Id use a smaller pump. How big is the sump? Go for something more in the 500 - 600 GPH range.

eshopps RS 100 sump is a nice fit for a 60g tank---24"wide too

Try ehiem 1260. They run about 600 gph which will be perfect. They are quiet and don't produce much heat. Set a 1" pipe in the overflow.

i am building a 60g cube at the moment also. I am going with the AI sol LED module, and the eheim 1262 return pump.

Try ehiem 1260. They run about 600 gph which will be perfect. They are quiet and don't produce much heat. Set a 1" pipe in the overflow.

1260 would be a good one. On the high GPH end of what I would use. They are stronger real world than other pumps with similar advertised rates.

I run the ehiem 1260 on mine works great, And I have DIY 6x24 t5ho with stunner led half the money of the ATI sunpower

if you are going to use a crbon and phosban reactor get the 1262 and build a manifold so you can run everything off one pump when i had my 60g cube i ran a mag 9.5 then a gen x pc40
