60 gallon rimless cube build

Yea I'm thinking on looking into that! My tank is also planet aquarium does yours have the black trim at the bottom? When I bought this I was worried that the old owner removed the top trim from it since it has black trim on the bottom.
I'm rimless at the top, looks just like yours with the back overflow. it's a beautiful tank, beveled edges and flawless. Nice to buy from a local manufacturer, I'm in the Frisco, Tx area.

glass is about 3/8" thk would two mp10's be enough flow. i was even thinking about going with maxspect gyre
I've got 1 MP10 and looking to add another. I run mine in the Reef crest setting, want another to run as the slave unit in opposite directions. I'm just using a Sicce powerhead, mounted on the back and the MP10 mounted on the right hand side

I tried just 1 MP40 and it was way too much for it, couldn't even go past 50%. 2 MP10s would be perfect.

great! i think thats what i will go with is 2 mp10s. its funny how you have the exact same tank and my fiancé was just telling me how she wants black sand in it instead of the white. And yours has the black sand as well lol. can you send a picture of the sump and everything i would like to see how you have it all set up.

IMO, go with black sand, always get comments about how original it looks. Don't just make a big liverock pile like I've seen so often, I tried to fill the back with rock so there's caves throughout, then did some peninsulas and a small island. I mounted a small nano powerhead down toward the bottom on the side, keeps water circulation so no dead spots in back.

As far plumbing, just went with simple Durso setup, mine runs pretty darn quiet. I'd say my MP10 and skimmer are the loudest things I hear. On my sump I have a small hang on refugium that grows a ton of copepods and amphipods that I feed to my green mandarin and 2 wrasses that I have. Your limited to space under there and unless you want to spend like 300 bucks on a nice acrylic trigger system sump, just make it simple. I used a 10 gallon Petco (dollar per gallon sale is always going there), bought some acrylic sheets at home Depot and cut them to size, silicone in place. I'm using filter socks right now, but might try running without them and only using them when cleaning stuff, it's a controversial topic for some I know. I run the Durso drain on one hole, Emergency Overflow backup on the other, middle hole is for the return line. Return is a Sicce 3.0, turned up not even halfway. Got a Reef Octopus skimmer also.

no I'm planning on painting the inside white just haven't got around to that yet. I've been thinking if i want to go with a trigger system sump but don't know if want to spend the money on one. Has anyone had any luck with them? are they worth the money

Just used a 10 gallon tank from Petco. used some acrylic sheets I got from home Depot and cut to size. First chamber has skimmer in it, spills over into 2nd chamber which is my refugium with chaetomorpha and liverock rubble, over under to last chamber with return pump. I have a Sicce 3.0 for a return turned up only about 25% though.

I have since replaced that egg crate in between the 2nd and 3rd with some replaceable foam to block small debris from entering return pump
