That 2 of my LFS prices. Theres this gold/peach color one that I really like.. 2 heads, $120. It is maybe 3". Seems pricey...

The frogspawns are $20/head there. I bought a branching 3 head for $60.

I had gotten a 5 head beige looking color torch from a local forum reefer for $75.

I had gotten a 5-6 head green torch from DD a few months back for about 90. I had brown jelly that killed it down to a single head.

seams pretty high buddy. my rule of thumb is if they exceed vivids websites prices then they are over priced. lol i love vivid but sometimes their prices are ridiculous for certain pieces. only reason why i love them is that they always and i mean always have rare corals that you probably wont see a whole lot of at your LFS.

For off color lps that gold/peach doesn't sound far off for a price. Based on me trying to find uncommon euphyllias, been lurking around for awhile trying to find pieces.

Really depends. Regular old green torches are going to cost less. the Gold and off color ones demand a high price because of rarity and there will always be fluctuations on the area its being sold and whether or not the retailer knows what he has. Rare things should command a higher price and they are rare and may or may not be in the wild as well. There are so many reasonably priced corals out there you should be able to find a substitute for your price range.

My LFS is selling a gold torch for $75 a head. So you aren't far off. If it was a standard, green torch then that would be wayy too much but for a rarer coral you will pay higher prices.

thanks for the feedback guys.

he had 2 with 2 heads and they were both sold. a 3rd with one head slightly damaged that he was willing to sell for the price of 2. I said I would wait til the next shipment came in.

I guess I will just bite the bullet next time I go.

Unless its an actual torch flame burning under water... My LFS is usually around 20 a head but the more heads it has the lower the price to a certain point. right now he has a electric green torch with about 7 full heads on it for $80

there also a difference in austrailian torches and other torches such as green. they also look a little different other than color. gold yellow and orange torches are from australia.
