So I started a new marineland 60 cube with my room mate. I won this cube in a local fish store raffle and it was just sitting in the box in my living room so we decided to put it togethor. Ill try to post the pictures in chronological order as best I can. Please enjoy and comment if you feel like it. Felt it was time to actually have a build thread.

Looks nice. Not sure how comfortable I would be with using coal slag as my sand bed. I do not know how it will react chemically, but it does have sharp edges so be careful cleaning the glass. Any trapped grains will scratch badly. There is a reason they use it for sandblasting.

Its is a glass sand and is inert. It is used a lot in our area. No one has had any issues with it. As far as tank problems go this tank has been pretty bullet proof. We havent lost a single coral in this tank yet and Ive had an SPS frag in it from day two (would not reccomend doing this). For some reason this tank just balanced right a way.

Im going to upload a bunch more pictures and they should be in chronological order but I dont remember the dates so sorry if it seems like there are some very similar pictures without good context. Im using this also as a way for me to keep track of the tanks progrees.

This tanks future is purely SPS, we are going to change the aquascape (hopefully) one more time and it will be set. On top of that we are removing any of the soft or LPS coral that is in it. I have a 90 cube also that Ive been swapping coral back and forth with.
