600 gallon Acrylic and Glass Reef Construction.

Sadly, neither of those pictures show the span of the large arch on the right. The arch is over 2 feet across and about 18 inches tall. Maybe these pics illustrate that better...

Here you can see the "arch" stretching towards the viewer, and in the next pic the angle takes you under the arch.

Thanks for sharing some pictures with us Paul.

Do those strainers limit what the closed loop can do? They seem like the might. Savko has some huge black ones that won't clog up and most livestock can crawl over it and not feel the vacuum.

I've also had longer locline in my tank in the past, and didn't like it. I see that big one on the right side. Is that going to stay that way, or will you be changing it out?

It will stay that way Marc. Once the aquascaping is finished it will allow me to have the directional flow I need in that area. AsJake so nicely pointed out, its all about surface flow.

The strainers I have right now are ok, but we actually have some large flat ones. Ed and I are working on a mod of them to allow flow and ability to be screwed on and off at will. Once we get them finished we will be adding them instead of the smaller units I have now.

Looking really great Paul. I love the arch, very natural looking. What bulb combo are you using now? It seems before your tank was more blue... I think you were using a 3:1 with the Giesemann bulbs? How is the RKE working out for you (if you have it hooked up yet)? I really want that controller. Well anyways, everything is looking great. Can't wait to see more. How about a shot of the Orca 250 with that huge cup?

Great update Paul. Did you change your PVC structure to fit the rock or is it mostly the same as it was several pages back?

Its exactly the same.

I havent done anything to the aquascaping for a month or so.

I have moved a few more corals into their new home, as well as a few more fish. I added a second borbonius anthias a few days ago. I thought my first one was "pretty"...however the second one I have is much brighter colored. A more pink body with red tipped fins. Here is the first one....

Once the second comes out of his hole I will try and snap a few pics.

These fish are solitary and cave dwellers. The first one hangs upside down under a ledge literally touching the rock with his fins. They are a very nice fish to watch swim, they do so head down with fins extended, almost like a lion fish.

Paul.

Everything's looking really nice, Paul. The rock colored up well and the fish look like they're having a blast. I can see what you mean about the left side, though. Maybe one of your famous pillars would do the job--kinda a slightly curved wall and a pillar next to it slightly obscuring the view of where the wall ends *shrug* Those anthias are very pretty; do they swim out in the open or hide a lot?

Today I added a bunch of rock that was in the 33g cube and a few more fish.

The blue spot Jaw fish, the royal gramma and the regal and yellow tangs went in.

Finally I got to put the hood back on the tank:
water is still alittle cloudy but its beginning to look like I want it to.

yes...and no....

I have dead spots, but thats to be expected.

I may end up having a wfew tunzes dotted in there at the back to help move surface water.

Im hoping the water clears up fast so I can get some better pictures.

Yeah that's whey I took out the CL on my 150. I still had dead spots and still needed the Tunzes' so I thought I would save some $$ on the CL pump, but on a system as large as yours.. I can see where they both are needed.
I think the pictures are looking great though. Are you still using Giesemann bulbs?

actually no, I swapped them all out for SPS. Im going back to geissemans though, im not ghappy with the color and level of brightness.

On the subject of tunzes, I would have had 2 anyways since I have them on UPS-s to run the wtar in case of a power outage. The UPS units I have will run a tunze for 6 hrs. So...thats plenty of time to get home and deal with an outage.

I run all giesemanns and I'm very happy with the color. I do want to try that new UVL 75/25 bulb though.

I need to get at least two of my Tunzes on a back-up. How is the RKE working for you?
