lol, no need to hint Chris, just tell me to get off my butt and come see your tank. =o)

That pic looks nice, I'll add that to my list of possible fish for my upgrade.

Hey Paul loved the tank last night and the rockwork it great. Where did you find the flatish rocks that make the pillars? Was it base or live?

I had a ccumulated most of it over the years I have been keeping tanks, some I picked up at stores...all of it was live rock.

The haotian rock we got in a few weeks ago would be ideal for that kind of structure.

Paul.

we will probably do another group order in the early part of next year.

I have to see if we can get the same price/deal.

Paul.

Well, all the woodworking is finally done. The false hood is made and installed. All thats left is the sanding and staining/varnishing of the doors and other woodwork.

Heres how the room now looks:

Those pictures are without flash, but show how the tank
really stands out.

After the lights started going out last night I took a few with just the MH on. The MH are at the back of the tank:

These pictures give more of an impression of the tank depth.

I hope to get the staining done over christmas then its time to get the frag tank in my study replaced and use the old frag tank as one of my new sumps for the 600g.

looking great Paul. The woodworking looks great just like it is, can't wait to see it sanded and stained :). Wish we were half as far along on our tank setup as you are on yours.

Thanks Guys....its kind of sporadic, in the last 3 weeks we achieved a great deal. A lot was done with the help of my wife Lynn and my good friend TimV.

Just need to figure furniture for the room now.

i have 2 of the tek 8 bulb units, one each side at front and 4 MH 2 each side, at the back. MH are all 400W XM 20k

Al, Clek.

Once again thanks. I would love to take credit for the wall but that was all my wifes work. Its a really neat wall paper that, depending on how you tear it, has either white edge or the design edge. Then, depending on how you hang it you get a variety of effects. Lynn does a great job of making it look like stone.

Having set all the woodwork in place for the meeting at my house last week, its now partially removed to finish sanding and stain. I think I am going to go with "Natural". Its a light coloration and will stand out well with the wall color. My only concern is that it may be too light and not really contrast against the brightness of the tank. If thats the case I may tone it down to a honey oak.

just thoughts right now, but I do need to get it done relatively soon.

I can then concentrate on my garage side of things, get the sumps in place and running well. Get the acrylic frag tank installed for grow up and grow out and then get the new frag tank in my study done.....

Just a few jobs to do.

Hi Russ,

No. The frag grow out will be in the garage as part of the general sump/circulation/refugium section of the big tank. I have a shallow 125g acrylic tank I plan on using for that job.

The one in my study will then be primarily stuff I will sell to fuel this obsession.
