600 gallon tank

Well , I got a some goodies for the tank room. I have decided to put in a dedicated a/c unit in the room, taking off the house system. I will also be installing an exhaust vent in the room. Many things led to this decision , so my new projects are starting.

i still have a bunch of loose ends to finish up, but all the attic work is out of the way at least

awesome build I'm thinking about going big but don't know what the cost of matinence is . General idea?
I don't have an exact number, but I'm sure between salt, filters, media, water test supplies, and power its somewhere between 100 and 150 a month. Now that's just a rough guesstimate, not including new toys, fish and coral :lolspin:

Got all my loose ends an finished wiring elerctric this morning. The ac guy is coming tomorrow to vacuum the lines.

Now that I have the ac project wrapped up, I had an itch to clean up the powerheads today.
they got soaked in 75/25 water/vinegar bath for 3 hours. They came out great, well considering I've never cleaned them

Very cool video. I notice that the vast majority of fish movements are along the viewing windows. This makes me wonder if there is really much gained by having a large space between the rocks and back wall. I know the flow is valuable and I would not sacrifice all of it. But it does bring up an interesting trade-off... moving the rocks back a bit would provide more swimming space in the areas the fish spend most of their time.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing... just noticing a pattern and thinking out loud. This could be very useful for those planning their rock-scaping, etc. I know for me it has been very helpful to watch this short video. So thank you!

great job with the mini split!!!! I wasn't brave enough to install it myself...was so afraid of breaking the copper lines. I ended up spending way more to have someone else do it for me. After seeing this I wish I had done it myself now.

Well the fish do use the whole tank, this is a very short clip , but I will say that most of the time I think my fish like the attention if me or my wife are looking through the front glass. They will all come out to see what's going on

She a beauty. Can't wait to get one. Where did you get her from?
I got her from a local guy breaking down his tank. He had this fish for for 8 or so years in a 100 gallon tank. She is very healthy, eats everything and anything, and looks to be around 12". I can not wait to get this fish into the 600!
