How are the lights hanging onto the rack? I have the same type of lights. I have 6 of them and I am going to have them slide into a room on a rack. I would rather mount them without a wire! Do you have any ideas?

I love this set-up,it looks very professional and clean.Im curious as to why you went with three individual pendants over say the 72" single sfigoli unit? This may have already been asked but Im at work and don't have time to skim the thread again right now.

thanks
Jamie.

great updates and wow some amazing pics, also will you have the skimate drain into a bucket or tied into your home sewer system? what pump(s) are you using again for circulation? are you going to use any hose clamp on the spa flex pvc?

grate update! its getting closer to live stock now!!!! good job on the lights;)! so you are feeding the skimmers off the overflow from the tank ye? i like that iv fort it would be an good idea my self but never seen it done! as for sand which one did you go with? i guess you could add a little proper live sand to seed it with life but im shore what you have got will be grate and the live rock will add loads of life any way! Keep the updates coming!

I wanted to ask the same question for some time now.

Thank you All! :)

Kaidenjohn: I will show you a picture once i get back home tonight so its going to be easier to explain. Basically, its a Tee that is connected to the beam so i can slide it up and foward quite easely.

Jamie & ssbreef: At first, i wanted a 72" fixture but after thinking about it, having 3 single pendants would give me much more play since i can move each of the single unit whenever i need to play under that surface. Also having a 72" on a 96" tank, it would be easier to move them and make sure that the light would spread all over the tank. Also if there is a problem in a unit, i still have 2 units running and no need to take them all out and having no light for a certain period. Overall, those were the reason of purchasing 3 singles units.

Edward: Thank you! I will keep this thread update, unfortunatly, i will be gone for a certain period after the next week end. Going to Europe for 3 or 4 weeks. After my way back, my tank will be the first thing i will finish up! ;)

gig: Thats what i wanted! Grey and black PVC and spa flex! I am still waiting for my black 1" spa flex. Once i will get them, it will look really nice IMO. There is the check valve that i could not find a grey one.... :(

Bart: the skimate will drain to a bucket, the tank is on the second floor, too bad i cant make it to the sewer, that would have been the best option! I am using the 4 vortech pumps for circulations, the dart on my return which is on an 4 ways OM with Wavy Sea. I am looking for black hose clamp in plastic since i dont want anything in steel even if its not touching water. It will rust after a certain time anyways. Yup i am going to put some on each of the spa flex... really soon but for now, there is no leak and i am not letting the tank run all day.

bad badger 1: I went with the Carib-Sea Oceans live sand. About to get 240 pounds. I am also going to put all liverock in the tank, no base rock. I will wait after vacation to start the livestock. Trying to figure out how i would like the aquascape. Will probably get some acrylic rod for it.

Nothing have been done recently. I have been traveling in Europe and will be back by the end of this week. I will be giving updates as soon as possible! :)

Dont forget to stop by the german and italian reefing factories. ;)

Came back from the trip a few days ago! I wish i could have visited more especially the reefing factories but maybe next year...since i book my flight already :P I bought an one way ticket to Paris and did not know when to come back. Unfortunatly, had to go back home early because of my brother and the round trip was cheaper than buying the one way ticket back. Oh well, i will get a chance to visit more next year :)

started all the pump, no more leaks. I received out of 8 bags of 40 pounds sand only 4 and will be waiting for the other 4 to come. i did put the 4 bags i had in the tank and i really like the Carib-Sea Oceans Direct sand. You can see some shells, some small rocks, but overall really nice size of sand. I also got some liverocks, a mix of vanuatu, tonga, marshall island and pokota liverock. No picture of the rocks yet, will bring them home probably on monday. Meanwhile, i need to think about the aquascape, imo, the hardest thing to do. I want an open look and at the same time, nothing touching the glass and nothing too high to let the corals growth and fishes swim over. Any suggestion on what i should do will be appreciate :P

Hi Richard,
very nice job! Bravo!
I think you will be part of my inspiration for my future 375gal! It's funny because 2 years ago, I was closely looking at your previous set-up in order to do my 125gal!:)

Richard, what are your dimensions again? Here's what I did... I knew what kind of rock i was looking for. I asked for long rocks and very big rocks that would be the base of those that will be stacked over it. After receiving my rocks, I looked at every single piece and started to think of where each rock will go where. Put the more bland simple rocks at the bottom while the more detailed curved rocks at the top of areas where it will be seen. I already had a diagram of how I wanted my aquascape, so I just had to make them fit. With the type of rock you ordered, it will be very easy to get these rocks to stack/sit next to each other without using rods or holding sticks. I then put my sand in only seeding the areas where the rocks wont sit the most and lightly where the rocks will sit. This gives the bottom more of a cushion and better seating. The sandstorm will last for days so you will have to be patient. You can look at my thread to see how I started it all. Other than that, create a vision and work towards that. It will all come together. Try to keep it simple with less rock. I always try to add less and work my way with more if needed. If you have more than you need, sell it. Just pick out the best ones for your tank.
