When you turn your light off completely, how did your fishes react to that? You still had to turn the light on to feed them right?

They didn't seem to be too stressed, but then again I didn't have as much fishes as you.
One thing I did do, is bring a small lamp (with a 40 or 60w bulb) about 3-4 meters from the tank, to give it just a small amount of light so the fishes weren't too stressed out.

We have met, I went and visited your aquarium when you has it for sale.

Moving a tank is always a pain, but since I had done it before..I had experience.

Also, I contracted some "professionals" to help move the tank. The rest, I did myself.

The next time, the tank is being sold with the house :)

BTW how was the moving, it seem to be quite a concern at the time?

I guess having 78W of Artnic over the tank is just enough light for the fishes and hoping that its not enough for the caulerpa to growth!

Too many thing were leading me to believe I had meet him.
His tank, brother-in-law, octopus and algea out break which was bad when I visited him!

Ginzo:
Glad to see that you got the algea under control.

Written by Weatherson:

"It appears that corrosion may have caused the internal electrical connector straps to short out and subsequently melt and burn the plastic housing. I was lucky to have been present at the time and prevented any flames or worse. But the shorting was cause enough to also damage the attached IceCap 660 ballast as well as the Solar 750 dimmer connected to this system. I’ve since had the ballast repaired but am deciding if I will again add a dimmer or not. "

I think that you might be mixing the issues, richard, first the I-bar from Profilux do not use the same technologie as Ice-cap, and ice-cap and Solar have had nothing but bad stuff hapenning to them. I think that T5 that can Dim with 1-10V technologie is a different ball game, but my theorie my be full of you know what. But one thing is for sure, is that profilux doesn't not put out a product that could burn down your house or create harm to your tank, that in it itself is something that I would bank on.
