6000 in a 65

i have an aga 65 gallon tank (36" x 18" x 24")with an overflow in the corner (it primarily just hides my heater and mj1200).
i am gong to purchase a 6000 and run it with my mj1200 which has a hydor rotating head. i assume the 6000 will have to be throttled down to about 800-1000 gph (i currently have two seio 620's).
im bb with mostly mushrooms, rics, frogspawn and hammer corals.
will this be too much....if i change to a dsb in the future will it be too much ?

You will be getting a decent turnover rate with 1000GPH, 15 times an hour to be exact with just the pump. You could definetly go with more of a turnover if you wanted. With your Seio's andyour pump you should be ok depending on how your SPS like the flow.

I wouldn't do it. The frogspawn and hammer don't respond well to the streams. They tend to retract and start receding. The flow is gentle but it is direct, these corals should have a indirect flow and in a tank of that size, short of placing them behind a rock wall, their is no way to accomplish that. The 6000 at it's lowest flow will give the impression of a flow equal to your 2 Seios. The Seio flow is a hollow tube of flow, the Stream will literally move every section of water in a tank that size, their are no areas that will not have a fairly high flow.

so roger just to clarify i did not have the lps but had shrooms it would be too much flow, and secondly from what you said it appears it is impossible to do a 6000 in a 65 with a dsb ?
