6000 on another controller?

Can the 6000 be connected to another brand of controller, or will they only work with a Tunze controller? I don't have the pump yet but was thinking I could connect a 6000 to a RK2 controller instead of buying a separate controller just for the pump. It would only be on/off if that's ok to run this pump like that.

The pumps are designed to work with Tunze controllers by a computer interface and the controllers allow far more than on and off. It is much harder on the pump to run them on and off, they get fouled with calcium faster and they are more prone to damage by snails and the like. I don't recommend it.

Appreciate the fast response Roger. One last question, can the single controller and 60000 be used with the light sensor? If so, does that sensor simple reduce the output (i.e. 50%) when dark or does it completely turn off the pump?

Thanks,
Ken

The light sensor locks the pump in at the speed you set on the bottom knob. During the day the pump pulses back and forth between two speeds.
