6000 power adjustment

Hi Roger,

My 6000 adjustment screw was set at about 50% and the controller set at 30%. If I turn down the adjustment screw to the lowest setting and leave the controller at 30%, is it going to reduce the actual output of the stream? In my 75g it has been hard to get the right flow on interval 2, so getting less flow will help. What do you think?

You are not supposed to adjust the driver and the controller. The driver should always be at 100% if you use a controller. On a 7091 the cumulative effect can damage the pump, on a 7095 the controller should automatically override anything you set on the driver.

I have the 7095 controller. So Should I turn the adjustment to 100% and use the controller at the lowest setting?

I just watched the video (components) you shipped me last week and have some ideas for adjusting the flow with proper placement of the streams. I also have the flow conditions video coming from a fellow RC'r. I am sure between the two videos I can figure out the best setup.

That is what I would do but really, a 6000 full power on a 75 shouldn't be an issue, maybe things need some time to adapt but I ran a 6000 and wavebox on my 75 for several months, but I do run bare bottom tanks mainly housing LPS and a few odds and ends.

I am running two 6000's and have a DSB. I just moved the streams to have one on the left side pointing up and towards the front, the other is on the opposite side and pointing up and back. Its a circular flow and seems to be what I am looking for. The settings on the controller are interval 2, 6 hour cycle, 6 second pulse from 30% to about 60%. Does this sound alright?

In your opinion would I better off with 1 6000 and a wavebox. As far as coral in the tank it is a mixed lot and I do not want to be limited if possible.

Really you could go either way on the flow. The wavebox gives about 3/4" of wave and takes up a fair amount of room in exchange so it has pros and cons. I think that sounds like a good set up.
