I have setup a 600G tank back in april 2010 with only LR and Live sand. I also added lots of snails, hermit crabs, and pods. I left it running all summer...and i promised myself i wouldnt add anything until fall. i add a cube of brine shrimp twice a week and the snails, crabs and pods all come out to eat. I just cant wait anymore. I added yesterday a blonde naso tang, a sixline wrasee, and a blue spotted jawfish just to see some movement in the tank..unfortunately the naso has been shy and stays hidden. So my intention is to start stocking with SPS(acropora, pocillopra, seriatopora) and also have lots of anthias and blue chromis. the question is do i first introduce the fish or corals or both??? how much SPS can i add at once??? i know it depends on the size of the tank but i wonder if i can buy 20-30 frags and place them on the upper part of the tank. can i also buy the 10-20 anthias & chromis together with the SPS? since i waited this long , i just dont want the system to crash now that i am stocking it.

Stock that thing up already! I have about 300 gal total and i added about 15 sps and 7 fish in same week. U should be fine

I'd not buy 20-30 frags. I'd say go out and buy less than 10 that are not any super expensive SPS frags. Let them settle into tank for a month or so and make sure they are growing and reacting well to the tank then add frags in large groups. My current SPS tank had to rebuilt because of a mistake with my LMIII and after getting back up I added about 5 to make sure everything was fine. I then got 28 frags one day and they are all happy now...Been in tank for 2-3 months!

I cannot even imagine how many frags you are going to need for a tank of that size. I have about 40 frags in a 75 but have plans in the works for next year for a 200+ gallon so right now its a grow out tank;)

U have a ton of space available, but I'd do a little, maybe 10 frags at a time. Last thing you want is to have a problem after you dumped all the money into those frags. Also, I would get the fish, most of them at least, in and acclimated. Again, if you have any disease with the fish, you won't be able to treat them with the coral in the tank. I'm impatient and have gone crazy at times only to pay the price later.
