6012 wavemaker questions

I'm planning a plywood build and want to use a wavemaker and extension external the way jar head has done.
Can the pumps be bought separate without the housing?
If so what pump is it and how much is it?

Can I use an aquaSurf rather than the Tunze controller with the same amount of control?

Hello, the pump for your wavebox is 6261 you can order it from Tunze.com. As for controlling them, you will need the 6091 wave controller but you can try your aquasurf first to see if it work out for you. I am not sure how fast their interval is. If you want to make your life easier, go with the 6091
