6025 nanostream rusty washer & impeller base

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. We were using a 6025 Nanostream in one of our tanks and when I went to clean it today I found that the washer at the bottom of the impeller shaft and the base of the impeller shaft were both rusted.

This is definitely not a good thing and now I wonder if that is one of the reasons the coral in the tanks were not doing well.

People use iron in there tanks all the time, from phosphate removers to additives for macro algae. It would not have any negative consequences especially in the minute amount that some slight oxidation on the surface of stainless steel would create. We have changed these parts to a titanium alloy and a graphite washer for greater durability and if you send in the pump I will upgrade it to current specs.

Hi Roger,

No problem. I understand. We are not going to send it in since we sell your products and get them wholesale.

Thank you.

If it gets worse, or at any time you change your mind, I am happy to solve the problem.
