6025 question..

I have a 3/4" thick glass tank, and tried mounting the nano 6025 on it...it slips....the magnet really needs to be stronger.

Did you mount it in an empty tank or with water? I could see this happening if the tank was empty as the pump would lack any bouyancy.

Part of my problem before was that I had not yet put the rubber pads on the magnet, which allowed it to slide rather easily. Doing so helped, and kept them in place, but, there's nowhere near the holding force of the .75" rated magmounts for the Streams, as you can easily pull it off the glass accidentally when trying to adjust the direction of the pump's flow. It doesn't move at all on the thinner 1/4" glass of my 40G tank, however.

I will double check as all along i was told it was for up to 12mm glass and when the arrived the boxes said 19. I am not sure if it was a missprint and will get clarification.

I thought it was rated for up to 1/2". My guess was if you have 3/4" glass it is no longer a nano. Though the 6025 I just installed in my 120g FO put out decent flow for my application.

I hope you were right Roger the noise will go away in a few days. For now it is a little too loud, I thought I would have to hook it up to a timer and turn it off at night, will see.

In every situation i have seen a few days of use eleiminates the majority of the noise. If it does not, let me know.

I have mine on 3/4" acrylic on my 40g cube. The reason I have 3/4 acrylic is becuase the tank has an open top with no bracing.

Well I tried both when the pads were on it was much harder to slide the pump on the wall and I had to push harder and several times caused the pump to jump loose. Without the pads the slide was smooth, so maybe the word "grip" wasn't the best choice.

Is the grip through 3/4" acrylic OK?

Yep, I have not had a problem yet. They have not moved on their own yet!
